A doctor is like a detective. A doctor pieces all the symptoms together to figure out what is wrong. Try to keep a weekly notebook of what is going on with you so that at your appointment you can speak up and don’t forget important information or symptoms to tell your doctor. Make sure you have a list of medications with you and doses you are taking. It is imporant that you know the side effects of your medications. Compile a list of questions in between visits so that your appointments are more fruitful. Learn to ask questions as the more informed you are, the more understanding you will have of your condition and what to expect. Join support groups so that you don’t feel alone.

These are just a few tips I can think of to make us more aware how to maximize the time we have at medical appointments and coping with illness.
